Physics of Collapse

A look at the physics surrounding the collapse of the trade center towers will show that there are significant reasons to speculate a controlled demolition.

BYU Physics Professor Steven E Jones takes us through the physics of controlled explosions

BYU physics professor Steven E. Jones has published numerous articles and evidence through comparative studies of the collapse of controlled explosions of buildings.  His shows parallel patterns in how the WTC collapses fit into the category of the controlled buildings brought down by explosives.  Using a variety of evidences such as speed of collapse, pile organization, the size of the pile and the debris in the pile, it is an interesting and worthwhile look to check out his study.

Time of Collapse, Evidence of Free-fall

The collapse only lasted 6.5 seconds, that is within a second of the time it would take for a free-falling object to fall from the top of the building.  These buildings were practically in free-fall when they collapsed, suggesting everything was taken out from under them.

The Structure of the Towers Would have left Steel Frames Upright, Unless Exploded

The collapse of buildings, including the steel frames, was reported to have been possible because of extreme temperatures of the burning buildings.  However, these "extreme temperatures were still far below the melting point of the steel.  (steel melts at 2750 degrees, pockets of fire recorded at 650 degrees).  In temperatures as experienced in the burning  towers, if a collapse would have happened, it would have left the center steel frames upright and erect.

Building 7

An interesting look at building 7 will raise some questions.  Building 7 was another part of the trade center and was not hit by a plane, but collapsed in the same way as the other 2 buildings hours later.  The building had experiences some minor damages from debris, but not significant damage.  A look at the video of the collapse will show smoke from a series of explosions just before the building falls exactly the same as the other 2 buildings.  Also, radio instructions to pull the building was taken as instruction for everyone to get out, pull is also the term explosive teams use to bring the building down.  The building came down unexpectedly shortly after. Read up on it more here.

The Footprint Collapse

The buildings, all 3, collapsed identically, straight into its footprints, with piles of rubble of the 47 story building (in the case of building 7) only two stories high.  Also the building was built around steel support beams up the middle.  The only instances when buildings with a structure like these have collapse were in instances of earthquakes or controlled explosions.
